Green Tree Viper – Trimeresurus albolabris – Venomous Thailand Snake!

This is a White-lipped Pit Viper (Trimeresurus albolabris), which is one of the many Green Tree Vipers. Green Tree Vipers have hemotoxic venom, which causes blood to coagulate, causing extreme pain. An untreated bite can result in the loss of a finger or even death.
These snakes are nocturnal and are rarely seen during the day. They feed mainly on rodents and frogs. This is one of the most common dangerous snakes in Thailand, being responsible for the most venomous snake bites in Asia every year. This snake has very many common names, including Bamboo Viper, Green Pit Viper, Green Tree Viper, White-lipped Pit Viper, Yellow-lipped Pit Viper and many more. (6)
